How Do Your Thoughts Shape Your Reality?

My family and I finally went to see the new Wicked movie! It does not disappoint and was really well put together. While we were watching the movie I noticed a common theme -- What we believe about ourselves, and others shape our reality.
All throughout Elphaba's life she heard negative things about herself. Her family, friends, and even her own inner dialogue became negative. She blamed herself for his sister's disability and her mother's death.
During the movie I felt the presence of God saying, "What we believe about ourselves, and others shape our reality." Our mindsets, perceptions, thoughts, and beliefs about people, circumstances, or situations shape our reality. If we consistently view ourselves, others, situations, or circumstances negatively they become chains to our lives. Holding us captive and stealing our joy.
Philippians 4:8 tells us to fix our thoughts on God and his ways. I believe this isn't just a once in a while, Sunday morning praise thinking. It is a consistent, way of life thinking. It helps us to shape our reality to the truths and promises of God, rather than the lies of the enemy. Today I encourage you to evaluate your thinking patterns, do they align with God's word, or do they promote a "stinking thinking" mindset?
Prayer: "God help my thinking to align with you and your word. Break every chain of negative thoughts, perceptions, and attitude towards others, situations, and circumstances. Help me to invest in this season you have me in, help me to see the things worthy of praise. Shape my reality so that in honors you in everything I do."
"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things." Philippians 4:8
