One of my favorite books of the bible is Job. It is a story about a man who had it all, served God faithfully. He then loses it all, continues to serve God faithfully despite his situation and what others advise him to do…. It is an inspiring book as it gives me hope that no matter how much hell is going on around you, all of heaven is rooting for you! I reference this story because of two verses that really hit me tonight.
“You will pray to him, and he will hear you, and you will fulfill your vows. What you decide on will be done, and light will shine on your ways.” Job 22:27-28
To start with, I love that this scripture comes out of the book of Job. As I stated at the beginning of this blog…he had it all, and he lost it all. The book of Job teaches us that bad things, situations, and circumstances happen to everyone – there is no way to stop it. Job 22:27-28 teaches us that if and when we pray, GOD will hear us. We are required to commit ourselves to God, even during these difficult times in our lives. (This is us fulfilling our VOWS to God) I love that this scripture makes it clear – WE pray, WE commit and God answers our prayers and even shines a light to put us on the right path. He gives us direction and meets every one of our needs.
This is your reminder – even in the most difficult and challenging times there is action required of you. Throwing a pity party only invites unwelcomed guests – PRAY and COMMIT to God. He will provide, your prayers will be answered, and the direction you need will be provided.
Keep your faith, even during your most difficult times. As a reminder you are never alone. Life is hard, and no one must go through it alone. If you need assistance of any type, please reach out to one of our advocates today!
